Meet the future Erickson Family. You might be thinking, "Again? Another Hardin-Erickson marriage?! We've already done this twice!" And to that I say the third time's the charm ;) Now, for those who don't know, Justin and Theresa have known each other since they were about 5 years old. But their love life began with a crush of a little girl...And an oblivious little boy. She was 11 years old and fed up with making decisions. So one day she decided to make a deal with God. "Lord, I'm just not sure what you want from me anymore, and I'm tired of having crushes... So him, or no one!" And with that, the fate had been written. He had no idea she had even existed other than being Joe's little sister... Until one fateful car ride, and a game of a battle of wits, "Truth or Dare". Alas, the crush had been made known, the feelings rejected, and the contemplation for both had begun. Late into the night, he was thinking, "Hmm, actually, I do like her. Yeah, I'm gonna marry her." Meanwhile, "I thought I was supposed to be a mother, well, I guess God just wants me to be a nun instead." Defeated, she gave up and thought, "I no longer like him." The tables had turned, but though she tried, Theresa could still not stop her feelings for Justin. So when another truth or dare game came along, thinking she was being relentlessly teased, she still had to admit her crush. However, this time when she asked Justin, she got a much different response than she expected. As time passed, they remained friends, having awkward interactions with small talk conversations. Until one day, they started writing letters, and they truly began to know each other. Small talk turned into little questions, which led to deep conversations. They began to call each other; they laughed, they cried, and they became best friends whose goal was to reach Heaven together. It was December 24th, the Eve of Christmas, and they had decided to go to adoration before joining Justin's family for their Christmas Eve celebration. They had gone to Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, ironically, the parish Theresa grew up attending. They had told each other that after adoration, they would exchange Christmas presents, and Justin eagerly asked if Theresa wanted to open her gift first. "Sure," she had responded. Justin then said, "Okay, but first I have two questions. One: Do you like pink buffalo's?" "Uhhhh...Well, I've never seen one before, so I don't know. But probably??" "Hmmmm, okayyyy... Second question: Will you marry me?" Shocked, Theresa excitedly whimpered out a yes. And they rode off happily engaged. So alas, here we are the end of the story. But prehaps, it is just the beginning...
