The Stone Arch Bridge is a great walking/running/biking trail and allows you to cross the river from downtown Minneapolis over to Historic Saint Anthony Main. There are bike stations and scooters throughout the city if you want to rent some quick transportation. It is a short walk from the Moxy Hotel (approx. 0.4 miles or 9 minutes).
This park along the river is just a couple of blocks away from the hotel. It's a great stop on your walk to see the Stone Arch Bridge. It is right next to the infamous Guthrie Theatre. The Mill City Farmer's market is on the other side of the Guthrie from the park on Saturday mornings.
The Aster Cafe is right by our wedding venue AND where Ashley and Dan had their first date! Take in views of the downtown skyline while sipping a cocktail or indulging in some comfort food under the trees at Aster Café patio. Step outside and walk along the cobblestone road and feel like you’ve been transported to a completely different place.
The Commons is a beautiful park right by the U.S. Bank Stadium where the Minnesota Vikings play football and where many concerts are held. It is within walking distance of the Moxy Hotel and the U.S. Bank Stadium light rail station is close by. It is an easy way to get further into downtown or closer to the Warehouse District.
Run, walk, bike, or people watch along the Chain of Lakes—including the three most popular, Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun), and Lake Harriet. The picture shown here is the Lake Harriet Bandshell. The lakes are Dan's favorite to run! There is also a beautiful public rose garden.
Check out one of the top breweries in the nation, Surly Brewing. Choose from 20 Surly beers on tap, grab some grub from the Surly food truck, then find a seat by the fire pits or play corn hole on the enormous outdoor patio. (Their food is delicious, including their upstairs pizza!)
The Market At Malcolm Yards is just across the street from Surly. They have a pour your own taps wall as well as many different food vendors to choose from. Get the ice cream from Bebe Zito! The empanadas are also great!
One of Ashley & Dan's favorite restaurants! It is not a fancy place, but their food is delicious! Come for delicious Ecuadorian cuisine - we recommend the Empanada de Carne, Caldo de Bolas de Verde, Chaulafan, and Encocado with mahi-mahi (add an extra fillet)! This is our order every.single.time
