Hood River 📍

Hood River is a small town and popular vacation destination in the Columbia River Gorge, one hour from Portland. The area is full of craft breweries and farm-to-table dining, and is surrounded by stunning trails, orchards, and vineyards. Right on the river, it has a beautiful waterfront and is known as the windsurfing capital of the world. Here are a few recommendations to make the most of your trip. See planned group activities on the 'schedule' page.

Wineries

Wineries

Award-winning vintages, sun-soaked valleys and sprawling vineyards with mountain views are just a few of the things that make the wineries in Hood River so special. The arid landscape and sunny weather in the Columbia River Gorge creates ideal growing conditions for grapes like Pinot Noirs, and dramatic rainfalls and the high elevation help produce a whole world of wines. Join us on our group wine tour to explore the region (see details on 'schedule' page)!

Craft Breweries

Craft Breweries

You'll find one of Oregon's best beer destinations in Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. We recommend Double Mountain, pFriem, and Everybody's Brewing.

Mount Hood Railroad

Mount Hood Railroad

The historic Mount Hood Railroad is one of the best Hood River attractions for kids, and a unique way to enjoy northern Oregon’s scenery. The train leaves right out of downtown Hood River, and the one hour Hood River Valley Excursion has great mountain views while winding past orchards, vineyards and the river in the surrounding Columbia River Gorge.

Hood River Fruit Loop

Hood River Fruit Loop

This 35-mile scenic drive through the valley's orchards, forests, farmlands, and friendly communities is a must-do. A picturesque valley, two towering snow-capped peaks, and thousands of acres of orchards provide great photo opportunities as well as fruits and wines, lavender and alpacas, and family activities.
