Chapter 1: A Fateful Encounter (2020) A Serendipitous Meeting In the vibrant corridors of Patanadek School, fate brought us together. Meera, hailing from Bhutan, and Skylar, from the United States, found themselves working in the same school building. Though our classrooms were on different floors, destiny had plans to intertwine our lives. A Thanksgiving Nod Our story began at a Thanksgiving gathering hosted by a mutual friend. While Meera saw Skylar as just another new teacher, Skylar didn't even recall the meeting. It wasn't until later that our paths truly crossed, leading to the start of a beautiful friendship. Chapter 2: Blossoming Friendship (2021) Bonding Through Badminton Our friendship began to flourish during our regular badminton games at a local park. Although initially a group activity, we found ourselves enjoying each other's company even when it was just the two of us. These moments of shared laughter and playful competition laid the foundation for a deeper connection. Sharing Our Worlds As our friendship grew, we introduced each other to our cultural traditions. Meera taught Skylar how to play "Five Stones," a traditional Bhutanese game, while Skylar shared American pastimes with her. Our bond strengthened as we discovered joy in these small yet significant moments together. These exchanges also deepened our understanding and appreciation of each other's backgrounds. Taking the Leap On July 9th, 2021, Skylar mustered the courage to ask Meera to be his girlfriend. Her heart overflowed with delight as she accepted, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. Chapter 3: Adventures and Growing Commitment (2021-2022) Exploring Thailand's Beauty In October 2021, we embarked on an unforgettable journey to explore the southern regions of Thailand. Despite COVID restrictions dampening our plans, our adventure continued in Koh Yao Yai and Phuket. These experiences only strengthened our bond and deepened our understanding of each other. Strengthening Our Bond Upon returning, our commitment to one another grew stronger. We spent the New Year with friends, celebrated global and local holidays and even donated blood together in our local hospital, solidifying our belief in the depth and resilience of our love. Chapter 4: Taking the Next Step (2022) Moving in Together In April 2022, Skylar asked Meera to move in with him. From May 2022, we embarked on a journey of blending our daily lives, allowing us to explore each other's quirks on a deeper level. We found joy in our complementary differences, with Skylar's meticulous nature balancing Meera's occasional disarray. Proposal in Khon Kaen In August 2022, during a romantic dinner at a rooftop restaurant in Khon Kaen, Skylar surprised Meera with a heartfelt proposal. Overlooking the city lights, he asked her to be his wife, and with a big yes her overwhelming joy and gratitude affirmed our love and commitment to spending our lives together. Chapter 5: Embracing New Challenges (2022-2023) Pursuing Dreams In September 2022, Meera was granted a visa to pursue her graduate studies in Canada. Skylar, ever supportive, encouraged her decision. Despite the distance, our love continued to thrive as we dedicated ourselves to personal growth and professional success. Long-Distance Love Skylar moved back to the United States, settling in Vancouver, Washington. He visited Meera in Vancouver, Canada every month, nurturing our relationship across the miles and planning our future together. Chapter 6: The Next Chapter (2025) The Wedding Day As we continued our journeys in different countries, our love remained unwavering, and our commitment to each other grew stronger with each passing day. On September 28th, 2025, Meera and Skylar will take their vows, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our incredible journey together.
