Dearest Family and Friends: Over the past few months, the world has turned upside down. Due to the tenacity of the pandemic, we all have had to adjust to the new normal, to make some very hard decisions, and to rethink our priorities. As much as we want each and every one of you to be a part of our special day, the overwhelm- ing safety concerns, as well as adherence to government mandates, led us to the following decision. On October 3rd, we will perform our wedding ceremony surrounded only by immediate family and our wedding party. The reception will follow in the summer of 2021, date and location to be determined. We hope that you understand that this is a drastic measure we never expected to have to make. We love every single person we were planning on inviting to our wedding, and this is heartbreaking for us. Please hold us in your hearts on October 3rd as we exchange long-awaited vows with each other. This is not how we envisioned entering married life, but we are doing so with an even greater appreciation of life and love. Be well, be safe, and hug your loved ones tight. We all need each other right now.
Alyssa and James first met back in 2012 and didn’t think much of it. Then in 2016, Alyssa moved to San Diego where the love story all began. They just clicked. There were days at the beach, nights in the city, and James even pretended to like the Packers for an entire season. That’s pretty much when Alyssa thought, “Okay. This could be something.”
On November 22nd of 2018, both families came together for the first time to celebrate Thanksgiving in San Diego. After a day of eating, football, and fun, they gathered around a scenic, tiki-torch lit bonfire on the sands of Mission Bay to end the evening. Having waited all day for the perfect moment, James raised his glass to make a toast, and surprised wifey-to-be when he got down on one knee and proposed. Without missing a beat, Alyssa screamed and shouted, "YES!!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in San Diego!
