This park is stunnung! Some of our favorite things to do are hiking Cadalac Mountain or you can drive up to the top and enjoy the increaible view. You can walk or rent a bike and ride around Jordan Pond. Somehow we always end up at the Jordan Pond house for a beer and a popover (there is a park bus you can take back to town). The beaches are so beautiful, although it may be too cool for a swim there are trails at Sand Beach. Take an easy walk on the wonderland trail, a lovely meandering path that leads out to the ocean.
You can take a ferry to the cranbury islands for the day and explore. There is a little town with a genral store and a cafe to check out.
We haven't been here but drove by the last time we were in Bar Harbor and it looks really cool.
Great breakfast
Really strong mojitos and great food!
This is a wonderful, convenient, eco-friendly way to get around Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park! Island Explorer buses stop at all the major points: the airport, College of the Atlantic, several of the hotels and campgrounds (including the Atlantic Oceanside) the Village Green in Bar Harbor, and the highlights of Acadia National Park.
