We ask that all guests kindly RSVP by September 15, 2025.
If you are not a citizen of India or hold an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card, you must apply for a visa to enter India. Anyone can apply for an Indian Tourist Visa online here: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/#parentHorizontalTab11. The following are some instructions to follow to apply for the visa: 1. You must have a passport that is valid for 6 months beyond the date of the visa application; 2. Your passport must have at least 2 empty pages; 3. Children must also have valid passports and visas; 4. There is an application fee per person(but I am not sure how much it is); 5. There are a few different kind of visas. We recommend either the 30 day visa or the 1 year visa depending on your travel plans. If you plan to travel within India before or after the wedding, we recommend getting the 1 year visa just to afford a little cushion time. 6. When filling out the visa application, please use the DD/MM/YY date format; 7. A visa application can take up to 72 hours to be processed and approved; and 8. When the visa asks for a reference in India, please use the information for the Backwater Ripples ( address: Nazerath Church Road, Kumarakom, Kottayam, Kerala,India - 686563; phone number: +91 9447756100) We recommend you apply for the visa at least two weeks in advance of your travel to India.
January is a pleasant time to visit Kerala, India. The temperature can get as hot at 90°F (32°C), and as cool as 68°F (20°C).
It is not recommended that tourists drink the tap water anywhere in India. You should stick to bottled water only, even for brushing your teeth. This is a very well known fact amongst staff at Indian hospitality establishments. Anywhere you go will have plenty of bottled water available and you will only be served bottled water at all wedding events.
There are no required vaccinations to travel from the United States to India. However, the CDC does have a list of recommended vaccinations that can be found here: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/india. We recommend you talk to your primary care physician at least a month before you trip to evaluate whether you may need any of the recommended vaccinations or medications.

If you are looking to wear traditional clothes, for the Welcome Dinner we recommend women wear a lehenga or a Salwar and men wear a Kurta set. For the Wedding, we recommend women wear a light saree or Salwar and men wear a Kurta or a button down shirt with a mundu or pants. Please keep in mind that it will be hot so dress accordingly!
