Ania met Medea (and Jake) as a mere freshman at ULS, where Medea was the senior captain of the ice hockey team. She somehow managed to transition from bullied underclassman to bridesmaid, and she is incredibly happy to be a part of the bridal party. Ania has only ever known Jake and Medea as a couple, and it’s a surprise to her that they’re just now getting married.
Annalisa Provenzano

Annalisa may be one of Medea’s oldest friends meeting at age 4 marble painting in the ULS primary school. As such she’s seen Medea through every stage of life (even the ones we dare not to speak of now…aka the preteen years). Folklore says bridesmaid duties started in high school when Annalisa assisted in the initial dating phase by assuming the role of third and fourth wheel with Jake’s friends on “double dates” at Burger Pointe in the Village. Annalisa knew voting for Jake and Medea as Cutest Couple in the 2011 yearbook Superlatives would one day pay off! Annalisa has literally been waiting her whole life to stand up as Medea’s bridesmaid and couldn’t be more excited!

As Medea’s college roommate, hockey teammate, and fellow bench rider, Elizabeth has been a consistent third wheel of Jake and Medea over the years. In fact, she saw how well they worked together and got a Jake of her own to match! She is so excited to stand with them as they tie the knot.
Hannah Hodges

Jacob is Hannah’s favorite brother, despite him taking the only blue eyes in the family. She credits Medea with convincing her to play hockey over basketball freshman year (the right choice!). Of the many reasons Hannah is looking forward to Jake and Medea’s wedding, she is most excited to respond “no” when asked if Jake and Medea are still dating.
Morgan Hodges

Morgan is Jacob’s eldest sister and was previously the most educated Hodges- a title regretfully taken by Medea. She is overjoyed a real doctor is finally joining the family and could not be more excited to stand by the bride’s side.
Nina Shanidze

Nina is the much younger, much prettier, and much more talented sister of Medea- and Jake. At this point, they've been together so long that she doesn't even remember life without him. She is excited and a little confused to see them get married; she thought they already were!
Connor Coyle

Connor met Jake while working at the Liggett Day Camp in 2013. Jake quickly spoiled the popular series Game of Thrones for Connor. The friendship nearly ended on the spot. As an honorary Liggett kid (Connor attended Liggett for Pre-School after all), Jake introduced Connor to his elite inner circle, which notably included Medea. Through lots of bonfires, games of volleyball, jeopardy, and alcohol, Connor came to view Jake & Medea as two of his best friends. He is beyond honored to be a part of their special day, and is waiting for the day Jake spoils him on House of Dragons.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jake Hodges in the 2015-2016 school year, when he tried out for the University of Michigan-Dearborn Men’s Lacrosse Team. I was a Captain, and we were offering open tryouts to students on the campus. The Captains were heavily involved in the cut process, so I made a point to get to know Jacob- a decision that led to a fantastic friendship, becoming roommates, and endless stories. Jake and I became close during our team spring break trip in 2016, when we visited the Women’s Pro-Basketball Hall of Fame- a great story for another time. Soon thereafter, I was lucky to gain another friend in Medea; Jacob’s better half. Upon being around the two, it was quite clear to see how well they balanced each other out. Moreso, their love for one another lit up any room they were in and they made a point to make anyone around them feel special. Words can’t express how happy I am to watch their story continue to grow. From Dearborn, to Med School Ball, to moving into their first home, I can’t wait to see where this new adventure of marriage takes them!

My name is Drew Dettlinger. I live with my wife, Stephanie, and dog, Riggins in Grosse Pointe Woods. I have known Medea for about 25 years, as we both were lifers at Liggett and then attended UofM together. I have known Jacob for over 10 years. We went to high school together. While I have known both Jake and Medea since high school and in Medea’s case even earlier, we did not become close friends until after college. Living in Grosse Pointe after college was not always the most exciting thing experience. However, this time in my life allowed for the development and growth of my friendship with both Medea and Jake. It is a friendship that I am extremely blessed and thankful to have in my life. I was fortunate enough to have Jake as a member of my wedding party in December of 2020.
Evan Molitor

Evan is Jake’s cousin from the Molitor side of the family. He enjoys all things outdoors, including skiing, hiking, and fishing. Evan and Jake have been attending the same family events for years, however they didn’t speak much when first introduced. Their relationship has since been strengthened through developed verbal skills and a shared love of whiskey. Evan and Medea also met through Molitor family events, which Medea has been attending almost as long as Evan has.
