This story starts with a man named Jon. His shop was vandalized, and I covered the story. He had surveillance and good conversation. We became friends. Little did I know he was friends with Kenny. Eventually, our conversation took a turn toward the dating scene. Jon told me he'd keep an eye out for GOOD GUYS. One day out of the blue, he texted me. He knew a guy who was single and, as far as he knew, was a good dude. He'd known him for a minute and told me he was attractive and kind. He gave my number and picture to him and did the same for me. It was set. We were going to talk after church. Kenny called. I didn't pick up and I forgot to call back. I returned his call a week later and, by that time, he’d moved on in his mind. Mecca who? LOL. After refreshing his memory, we talked. We kept talking, and he called me the same time every evening for weeks. I loved our conversations. He would tell me about growing up in small town America, very different from me, as I was born in LA and raised in the DFW area. His stories were epic - even giving first & last names of the people mentioned. It was hilarious. We decided we would skip meeting & just work on a friendship. Well, that got old and I wanted us to meet. Kenny wanted to make sure it stayed G-rated and by G, I mean God. LOL With the help of his sister, we met at Starbucks and swapped stories in person. Afterwards, we left and got in our cars, but before I left, Kenny walked back over to my car and handed me a yellow baggie filled with his sister’s homemade cookies, I kept those bad boys for more than a year. It was so sweet and genuine. It didn't take long after that for us to jump into a relationship! It was exciting and fun at first, but like most relationships, we hit a rough patch & went our separate ways. We would later make our way back to each other & he made his intentions official. Proposing on the last day of Nov. 2018 to rectify Nov. 2017’s breakup. He wanted to make it right. BLOWN AWAY! Still am! #loveus
