It was 2010 when Dakota transferred to Marshall High where she would end up sitting at the same lunch table as Brett on her very first day of school. Throughout the year as she continued to sit at the same table with their mutual friends, Dakota noticed how different Brett was from the rest. While the other guys were flinging food around, burping, and making fun of others, Brett would always be working on his school work for his AP Classes, specifically making blue prints and figuring out math problems that Dakota would never even try to understand. This caught her attention, to say the least. Although Brett & Dakota's friendship never became much more than that, throughout high school they had their occasional flirtatious conversations, one of which included Dakota jokingly asking Brett to marry her someday. They also would have end up hanging out a handful of times either taking late night trips to Taco Bell or admittedly sneaking alcohol into high school parties which their parents never knew about.. until now. (Sorry!) It wouldn't be until 7 years after graduation that Brett & Dakota end up making their way back to each other through the most millennial form of dating, the app Tinder. Yea it was a global pandemic, but after a first date to Langer Park, they couldn't stay away from one another. Dakota loved him only after the first week, Brett knew shortly after. It only took 3 months for Dakota's daughters to tell him they loved him, 6 months until he moved in, 7 months for their oldest daughter to surprise them by asking Brett to be her step dad, and less than a year for Brett to propose at the exact park where they had that very first date. We are so happy that life has gone full circle and brought us back together to create a beautiful family who love one another so very deeply. We can't wait to bring all of our family & friends together to celebrate the blessings we have been given, and the love that has been built. We look forward to seeing you all soon!
