Mike and Lindsay have been friends since their days at Carl Sandburg High School. Always running in the same crowds, they had mutual interests, shared classes together, and remained good friends throughout the years. Mike went off to the University of Iowa and Lindsay to the University of Illinois to start their time in undergrad. On one fateful summer night before their Sophomore year, Mike snapchatted a video of his dog Murphy acting like a goof. Lindsay responded, easily amused by Murphy's antics, and mentioned that she missed seeing the high school crew and that they should all get together sometime. A few weeks later, there was a bonfire at the Probasco's where Mike was seated right in between Mr. and Mrs. P., and the rest is history. Mike and Lindsay have been inseparable every day since. There was long distance in college, career moves, grad school, and finally moving in together in Chicago where they got engaged six years later!
Mike had big plans for his 2020 Proposal. Unfortunately, the global pandemic altered some of those plans along the way! Originally intended for June, Mike was looking to ask Lindsay to marry him. He remained flexible, filling in as many people as he could without Lindsay knowing, all while never leaving the house for months! As soon as the opportunity arose, he paid Mr. and Mrs. P a visit to ask for Lindsay's hand in marriage with a bouquet of flowers and a 12 pack of Miller Lite. It was a resounding YES! Soon after, all of his plans started to form. He visited a family friend to pick out the most perfect ring, talked to all of the close friends and family, and set the date for July 18, 2020. The day started with a relaxing visit to the AIRE Ancient Baths and Spa in River West where Lindsay enjoyed a peaceful morning and massage, and Mike panicked the entire time. Following the spa, they got ready for what was supposed to be a "Birthday Lunch" followed by a "Birthday Pool Party" back at the Probasco house in Orland Park. The Uber took Mike and Lindsay to one of their favorite spots in the city, right in between the Shedd and the Planetarium with perfect skyline & lakeshore views. They took a walk down towards the water as best friends Paige & Jerry came swooping in with the cameras. Mike got down on one knee, popped the big question, and SHE SAID YES! While it was never a doubt for anyone who knows Mike & Lindsay, it was a well-deserved wait for such a special moment. The party continued with an "Engagement Pool Party" all day (and night) with all of their closest friends and family. It was the most perfect day!
