Justin and Sarah met like most couples in 2025: on a dating app, of course. A few weeks before the New Year, one of Sarah’s friends mentioned wanting to download a dating app — but not wanting to do it alone. Sarah, the perpetual “yes!” friend, agreed to download it too, just for fun. 😉 After a few weeks and very little luck, Sarah stood in her kitchen, looked up to the sky, and genuinely prayed: “Lord, I know You’re not a genie… but if I could just meet someone who loves You, is gentle, and maybe happens to be tall… I’d be happy for the rest of my life.” Later that same evening (no joke), she stumbled across Justin’s profile on Hinge. One of his prompts read: “What are you looking for in a partner?” His response: “Someone who loves Christ more than anything.” After weeks in the murky pond that is the modern dating pool, Sarah found his answer incredibly refreshing and swiped right mostly just to congratulate him on being a good human. Meanwhile, Justin — who had also had very little luck on the app — had randomly logged back into Hinge after weeks of inactivity. He saw the swipe from the ravishing creature sitting in his “likes” column and decided to send a message. The rest, as they say, is history. And here’s the part that still feels a little unbelievable to us: for the first few days of getting to know each other, Sarah had no idea Justin was Deaf… and Justin had no idea Sarah could sign. That — along with a whole collection of other gifts from God Himself (including the fact that He very generously answered Sarah’s prayer for a tall man… considering Justin is 6’7”) — is what brings us together for this incredibly special occasion.
