How we met

#middleschool

Maggie's Story We met a very long time ago, in fact, we were in most of the same classes from middle school onwards. My first memory of Chris was in our 7th grade Math class when Chris was moved to the front because he couldn't see the board. This is the same class where we (though the gifted class as it was Algebra 1) were notoriously bad kids throwing things in class, you name it, and by the end of the year we had gone through 3 teachers. But alas we did not fall in love first. We became steady friends from then onward with many events we all were part of including Blood Drive where I think our friendship became the strongest. But not love interest, in fact, it wasn't until the end of our senior year when Chris asked me to prom did things begin to change. Again, Chris claims we were going just as friends as he knew I had just gotten out of a relationship. But on prom night (my 18th birthday) did I look at him differently.... but for nearly a month following that date nothing happened. I mean nothing. I was kind of mad at him since at the time we were constantly together with our group of friends (who will be by our sides on wedding day). Then, he finally asked me a month later at his graduation party in the kitchen of his parents' house. Needless to say the rest is history.

The other side.

Well, Maggie likes to think we were all the same in middle school. I’ll be honest, I was rather aloof about things and didn’t pay attention to anyone that wasn’t right around me or seemed like trouble. And did Maggie seem like trouble. I was not part of the students that went through three teachers. I sat quietly and tried to work but couldn’t see the board. Then, when I started working blood drive in High school was when I started to know who she was as another person in my grade. Around that time I worked at Kroger with her brother Nick and got an invite to the annual halloween party. Unfortunately, the night of this Halloween party, my grandmother passed away. I was still determined to go to the party though to clear my head and I’ll never forget how Maggie pulled me to the side of the party and asked me what was wrong. She was there and noticed I wasn’t my usual insane self and took the time to help me. Fast forward to having more classes together (and noticing her this time) we began to all hang out with the same group of friends. We all went as friends to senior homecoming and then came time for prom. At prom I was convinced we were just friends and I could tell she wanted to kiss me the whole night but I was still unsure. It wasn’t until later that night in her driveway that we shared our first kiss. Now, after four years at Miami University together, a year spent two states apart, and another 10 months separated for school, we finally get to say I do on July 24, 2021 and continue our crazy life together. I love her snot and all and she loves me farts and all. To forever and a day
