What started as a friend request, quickly developed into post-liking, side-eyed glances from across the auditorium, and eventually the message that started it all. After day's of preparation, the best she should come up with (That's right, folks, she made the first move) was "Hey ;-)". Unbeknownst to him, the "cute guy" from teacher inservice day's life was about to change forever.

Almost 30 minutes early, he nervously entered Tipsy Bean, a local coffee shop, and waited for what seemed to be the longest half hour of his life, but from the moment she walked in and with every moment with her thereafter, time ceased to exist. After closing down the coffee shop on that cold, wintry day, the rest as they say is history, as much fewer days were spent apart as they were spent together.

After dinner with her family, Ryan asked Meagan to close her eyes as they drove, making sure to take the long way to their destination, because he had one last New Year's Eve surprise for her. With her eyes still closed, he pulled into a parking lot, parked the car, and guided her out into the cold.
