In the summer of 2003 before 4th grade, Raul met Meaghan at the Robin Meadows neighborhood pool, a moment that Meaghan does not quite remember. The two became friends in middle school and continued to be close friends throughout high school. It was through those years where Raul developed a crush that Meaghan was unaware of. It wasn't until after college when Meaghan started to notice and appreciate how kind Raul was to her, time after time. The next thing you know, during a weekend in Ocean City, Meaghan started to develop the same feelings. Raul's patience paved way for their love story to commence, and they began dating in early 2018.

For the Thanksgiving holiday in 2023, Raul & Meaghan decided to stay in Charleston, SC. They were lucky enough to stay at Kiawah Island Golf Resort for their first combined family Thanksgiving. The weekend was filled with family time in a beautiful place that included bike rides on the beach and trails, dolphin and gator sightings, and ended with an Oyster Roast & BBQ. After a cloudy and rainy day, the sun poked out just in time for a beautiful sunset on the Kiawah River, where Raul took a knee, with Meaghan's grandmother's ring in hand. It was an incredibly special moment, in one of their favorite places, with their families by our side.
