$$ - Rooms starting at $204. This is where the wedding reception will be held, and we have a block available until April 2. On the Kennebunk River, it's just a short walk to the shops and restaurants downtown in one direction and Walker's Point in the other direction. Complimentary shuttle service is available within a 5-mile radius of the resort. Choose between the Carriage House (which was part of the original inn that opened in 1884, and has been modernized) or the Portside Lodge (which features larger, newer rooms). For families or groups, inquire about family suites. Dining options include the waterfront, award-winning 95 Ocean (tip: try the lobster gnocchi!); the casual Heckman’s Pub, located just off the lobby; or Latitudes, the poolside bar and grill. Breakfast is included daily. They require a two-night minimum, so we have other hotel options to recommend, listed below.

Located in the heart of downtown Kennebunkport, the hotel is steps away from the shops and restaurants. It's just 0.7 miles from the Nonantum, following Ocean Ave. the entire way. We may also be able to add this as one of the trolley stops at the end of the night. The restaurant (the Burleigh) offers daily happy hour from 3-5. Built in the 1800s, the historic Inn Building features 23 guest rooms and two suites. The Spa Building showcases contemporary architecture with brick-lined sidewalks, street level shops and the spa, as well as effortless access to its state-of-the-art fitness center. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday brunch, is served at Stripers, its waterside restaurant.

$$ - Rooms starting at $179; 2-night minimum. Request rooms adjacent to the main hotel, as these have AC and TV. (The rooms in the historic main building don't). Just up the street from the Nonantum, and up the hill from the Breakwater, it's convenient to the reception. This is also where we'll be having our rehearsal dinner. It's one of the original grand hotels, but it hasn't had as much modernization as some of the other options. It does however have a beautiful pool looking out at Ocean Ave and the river and beach. Lunch is served out there. They also have lunch and dinner in the Marine Room.

Kennebunkport is home to a number of B&Bs, but the Captain Fairfield (half a mile from the Nonantum) has been modernized with luxury designer bed linens, private baths, iPads, flat screens with Apple TV, iPod docking stations, AC and WiFi. Each room is uniquely decorated. For example, the Vineyard Vines Suite features nautically-inspired fabrics made from board short material, and the edging on the window shades are from Vineyard Vines belts. Flight

Portland International Jetport

About a half hour from Kennebunkport, the Portland airport is the most convenient option for out-of-towners. If you do not wish to rent a car, an Uber ride will be around $40. (Traveling from Logan is about 1 hour 40 min).

Train

Amtrak Downeaster

While it doesn't bring you directly to Kennebunkport, you can take the Downeaster to the Wells, ME station and you're just a 15-min cab or Uber ride away. The Downeaster runs from Boston with minimal stops. (It also travels southbound from Portland).
