Man of Honor
G and I grew up five years apart, but as adults, we've gotten extremely close. Gianna has shown me what it means to be there for each other through thick and thin, and I'm so honored to call her my sister. When I met Meg I instantly knew that Gianna had found her perfect match, and I was so happy to know that my sister had found the love and support she always deserved. We both are embarking on new chapters of our lives, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of us. Most of all, I can't wait to spend the days ahead celebrating family and love with the first and best friend I ever had.
Maid of Honor

Though Gianna and Avery are both 2012 graduates of Smith, they met after they both moved to Boston through a mutual friend. They’ve been each other’s plus-ones to work parties, navigated concerts and festivals, and braved the hits-and-misses of Boston’s LGBT nightlife for the last 7 years. They are each other’s ride-or-dies, and everywhere they go, Gianna brings the laughter, Avery brings the Lactaid. A few years ago, Gianna and Avery’s friendship had an exciting addition when Meg and Gianna began dating. Soon, the three of them were taking on the city — with equal parts of Meg’s impeccably hosted house parties — and Avery can’t believe how much their partnership has blessed him. When he’s not singing Gianna and Meg’s praises, Avery is a paralegal at an ad agency and cat dad to Reese.

After a case of mistaken identity resulted in Meg instantly hating Rosemary, Ro was able to use their charm and wit to win Meg’s friendship. After the short bump in the road, Meg and Rosemary were able to discover their shared love of good food, fancy cocktails, and hosting fun gatherings at home. These days, they enjoy morning walks, espresso, travel, and both pushing Gianna’s buttons.

Gianna and I first met each other over 10 years ago, as first-years in a Calc II at Smith College, and in subsequent years, we continued to take math and science classes together, and hung out a bit outside of class at house parties and stress-eating during finals and in study groups. After graduation, we both moved to Boston and became much closer through Gianna’s then-roommate, Erin. I’m so appreciative for all of the memories we’ve built over the years in Boston. We were each other’s dance party buddies and fellow movie marathoners, were on the same trivia team on Tuesdays, and spent many nights talking about everything from our processing of post-womxn’s college life (and the sometimes difficult adjustment period), sharing stories from our childhoods, and confiding in one another.

Meg and I became friends when I transferred schools in third grade. Meg walked right up to me on the first day of school and said, "we're going to be friends," and we have ever since that day! Now I'm living outside the Boston area - a short jaunt over the river from Gianna and Meg - where I'm pursuing my dream career in robotics tech. I enjoy spending time with family and friends in the area, beach days, cooking, and dancing! I can't wait to be cutting-a-rug with Meg and Gianna on their wedding day!

Gianna and I met on the same day we signed the lease on a three-bedroom Boston apartment at the height of moving season. I couldn’t have been luckier to have a roommate with just the right mix of warmth, sarcasm, and the shared love for horror movies. In the midst of countless laughter, porch conversations, and movie nights I had found myself a friend for this life journey. Within a year I would be able to attest to Gianna's undeniable glow when she met Meg. On a recent beach trip with Gianna, Meg, and my wife Misty, we spoke honestly about the future: our dreams and fears. I feel it in my heart that we'll be forever friends. These two give so much love, joy, and authenticity to others. I’m honored to bear witness to Gianna and Meg stepping into their new chapter.

Gianna and Meg have been part of my Boston community over the past 4 years. I met Gianna first and was drawn to her infectious laughter and warmth. Gianna and I formed a friendship based on the intersections of our black, queer, women identities. Just when I thought I couldn't like her more; she was a fellow Smithie! The rest was history. Gianna couldn't have picked a better friend for me ;) Meg is also from R.I., meaning we shared an obnoxious amount of Rhody pride, loved taking beach trips, and had a love for good clam chowda. Meg truly became my Rhode Island sister and provided me with a sense of home. I am overjoyed by this union and feel honored to be a part of it. I love these two women with all of my heart. To witness this love is to witness a magic I cannot begin to describe.

Mandie grew up in sunny San Diego but moved to Boston for college, fell in love with New England’s charm, and stayed. Currently, she manages a website at a nonprofit and is learning to code. She loves coffee, contemporary art, local parks, dancing, making life plans, changing her mind, and tacos. Mandie met Gianna randomly at a summer house party in 2015, then just 6 days later on a whim invited her to join a group trip to Ptown...it was both the start of their friendship and an annual “Gaycation” trip tradition that Meg would join over the following summers. Mandie is so looking forward to celebrating Meg & Gianna’s big day with everyone - bring on the tears, the laughter and lots of dancing!

After a grueling summer of studying for the bar exam, Matty just wanted to turn his brain off for a bit and instead met Meg who wanted to know about every feeling he’s ever had. Matty and Meg may seem like opposites at first, but their shared love of connecting with nature, yoga, and long conversations, has built a solid foundation of friendship. As a bonus, Matty now gets to bring out the worst in Gianna by crushing bud lights.
Officiant
Gianna and I have lived together for almost 5 years. We clearly can’t get enough of each other. We balance each other out in the best of ways. I could bore you with the story of how we met, but the time with her since has been richer. Some of my favorite moments with Gianna are: being the only ones to know the lyrics to the top R&B and hip hop songs of the 90’s and early 2000s, dancing in ptown the summer of 2015 and the way we embrace every time we take a picture together. I have the honor of officiating her wedding and watch her marry the love of her life. I have a feeling this moment will take the cake.
