A Love Like No Other

They say it’s rare to be able to experience a once-in-a-lifetime love so deep, that it can completely turn your world around. You pray about it, you manifest it, and hope in your lifetime you find it. Envision walking into a new place of employment on your first day and locking eyes with a complete stranger. Creating an instant connection so strong that it ignites a fire in your soul, and at that very moment you just knew some way, somehow you’ve met before. Maybe in another lifetime, somewhere, before names, before time, you’ve met eachother. I was just coming off of a Pediatric travel assignment, and was starting as a Rehab Unit Manager. Austin, was starting a new clinical rotation for Occupational Therapy. We crossed paths many days in our building with no words spoken, only long stares that pulled you in as we passed eachother in the hallways. It was almost as if we didn’t feel new to eachother, but more like Deja Vu. Like a song you almost remember, or a dream slipping through your fingers the second you wake up. A few weeks later we crossed paths at our local gym only I didn’t see Austin, he only seen me. The next day at work he struck up a conversation and that’s when we felt something shift. Maybe thats why our hearts raced when we both entered the same room, maybe that’s why when I first heard his voice for the first time, or we held hands it didn’t feel like discovery, it felt like remembering. Endless conversations during the day turned into long talks under the stars by night of our goals, our dreams, successes, failures, our future. We had deep connections on every level and knew we wanted to experience eachother for a lifetime. We became practically inseperable. A year later came the perfect intimate engagement to celebrate the future of becoming one. Because what if love is not about finding? Maybe it’s about returning and we’ve met again. The air shifts, the moment bends, and every version of us, across every lifetime reached forward and whispered, “we’ve found eachother”. A love like this lingers, it loops, it waits. I pray in every lifetime we find eachother again. To experience a love like ours is once in this lifetime, and beyond thankful to have found what people spend a lifetime searching for. Words can never truly bring to life a feeling so pure and free. Here’s to forever and longer together.
