We feel incredibly blessed that our story began organically with a real friendship—two people who genuinely enjoyed being around each other and had no idea at the time that it would eventually turn into something so much greater. We met at Mississippi State University when Ty was Meagan’s next-door neighbor, always running back and forth to South Farm to check chickens in between classes. Back then, it was just a simple invitation to grill and hang out on the porch, but neither of us could have imagined how much that moment would eventually change the course of our lives. What followed were countless hours of old country music, wild stories, porch conversations, and the kind of belly-aching laughter that made hours feel like minutes. We just genuinely enjoyed each other’s company. It all felt easy—like we had known each other forever, even though we had only just met. After college, life briefly took us in different directions, and for a while we lost touch. But even through time and distance, there was always a spark still there between us. When we found our way back to each other, everything picked right back up like no time had passed at all. Our first official date was a weekend spent at the river fishing, laughing, and catching up with friends. Somewhere in those moments, our friendship slowly became something more. What had always felt natural suddenly became undeniable, and before long, we realized that we had fallen in love. Since that weekend, we’ve been inseparable. One of the greatest gifts of our relationship has been sharing in each other’s passions, especially the way Ty has fostered a newfound love of farming in Meagan. From counting cows together—while Meagan insists on naming every single one—to traveling to some of our favorite vacation spots, we have learned that no matter where we are, we simply enjoy doing life together. Looking back now, it is easy to see how faithfully God was working through every ordinary moment to bring us together. We feel incredibly thankful for a relationship built on friendship, laughter, love, and a whole lot of adventure.
Our proposal story could not have been more “us.” On Valentine’s Day, we spent the day doing the things we love most together—feeding cows, eating at our favorite local country store, Rosebud, and Ty giving Meagan tractor driving lessons. It was one of those simple, ordinary days that have always meant the most to us. Before heading home that evening, Ty insisted we ride over to check on the catch pen we had recently finished building on the farm. As we walked through it, Meagan wandered a little too far ahead, completely unaware of what was happening. When she finally turned around to ask Ty a question, he was down on one knee in the middle of a heart etched into the dirt, asking her to spend forever with him. There could not have been a more meaningful place for such a special moment. What started years ago with friendship, porch conversations, and countless laughs led us right back to the place that now feels most like home—our farm.
