We "met" in March 2015 in the most unexpected of places: Twitter! What followed was a two-year friendship of political venting, Will Muschamp lamenting, and the kind of passionate rivalry that can only be found between those born into the SEC. Exactly two years after "meeting," we both found ourselves at something of a crossroad: Drew was a recent graduate of UF Law and studying for the Texas Bar, and I was preparing to graduate from SC with no real plan ahead of me. Drew sent me a DM of encouragement and solidarity, and that conversation simply never ended. We texted, called, and FaceTimed at all hours of the day, quickly finding a confidant and source of support in each other. Drew claims it took a week of constant communication for him to fall in love with me...but as always, I was a little more stubborn and skeptical. He surprised me with a plane ticket to Austin after my graduation, and then I surprised myself by signing a lease for a downtown apartment. Four years after we "met," Drew proposed to me on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol. Since then, we've bought a home, adopted three rescue pets, and traveled the country together. It is our fervent hope that you are able to come to this celebration of love, light, and family.
We have multiple family members who cannot be vaccinated due to age restrictions or immunocompromised health. We have already postponed our wedding to prioritize their safety. To continue to protect these loved ones, we kindly request that you get double-vaccinated and boosted before our wedding. We will not be postponing again unless Austin, Travis County, or Texas implements stay-at-home policies. That said, we lovingly encourage our guests to make the travel and attendance decisions that fit you and your family best. Your love and support will still be felt and cherished on our big day, even if you are not physically present with us.
