COVID-19 Updates

Love in times of a global pandemic!

As we all adapt to an uncertain time with COVID-19 (coronavirus), we are monitoring the news carefully. We are prepared to take every precaution necessary to make our wedding safe for our guests. Our wedding is happening as planned, and we look forward to celebrating with you all on November 7th! At this point, we've been advised that we should continue planning our wedding. Please RSVP once invitations are sent out and book your accommodations as you normally would, but check first for a lenient cancellation policy, which most hotels and airlines are happy to provide in light of current events. That being said, the safety of our guests is our utmost priority. Please check our website and national and local public health websites regularly for updates. There is always a possibility we will have to alter our plans as our wedding date approaches and we promise to keep our loved ones as informed as we can be. Please contact us directly with any questions – our contact information is below. Thank you for your love, patience, and concern. Lauren - lemmy3@me.com & (808)469-6986

How We Met

March 28, 2017

We met each other during our third year in 2017 at our beloved alma mater, the University of Virginia. We quickly began to spend time together exploring Charlottesville and getting to know one another. We studied for history exams together in Nau Hall and spent time meeting each other's friends on the Corner. While we fell in love with one another, we learned about vineyards, breweries and the food scene of Charlottesville and this has continued to be a passion for both of us. As we got to know one another, we started traveling together and have explored many cities up and down the East Coast. Additionally, we adopted our puppy Murphy together in February of 2018 and have loved being puppy parents. Through our time together, we have grown stronger as a couple and have begun to achieve our life goals. Michael commissioned as a Marine Corps Officer in November of 2018 while Lauren completed a Master's Degree and has begun her career as a teacher, teaching Middle School U.S. History. We bought our first home together in April, 2020 in a quaint coastal North Carolina town. We are looking forward to all that is ahead of us as we continue to travel, grow, and laugh together.

The Proposal

June 22, 2019

On the 21st of June, Michael took Lauren down to Charlottesville and we went to Lampo, one of our favorite places in Charlottesville. Saturday morning we got up and headed to Marie Bette, our #1 destination for fancy brunch. After that, Michael told Lauren to pick a couple of vineyards near King Family, because he was in the mood for their Crozet Rosé. After 2 stops, we headed to King Family and Michael started checking his phone like crazy. We walked out on to the back lawn of the vineyard, and there is the most beautiful picnic set up with flowers and food and pillows and Lauren immediately started tearing up. Michael asked Lauren to sit down and wants to know if she wanted a plate of food when she loudly proclaimed NO!!!!! Michael led Lauren a few feet away and proceeds to tell Lauren beautiful things and he drops to his knee and asked Lauren to spend their lives together. She starting happy dancing and saying "yes yes yes” and the ENTIRE vineyard erupts into cheers! After, he tells her there are some people here to say congratulations and we both turn around and their best friends in the entire world were there, to celebrate with them. We proceeded to drink and eat and spend time with the people who mean the most to us into the early hours of the morning.
