The wedding ceremony and reception will take place at the Union Bluff Hotel & Meeting House on Beach Street in York Beach, Maine. The ceremony will take place outside on the oceanfront lawn directly next to the Union Bluff Hotel. In the event of rain, there will be a tent set up on the lawn to provide cover for guests. Cocktail hour and the reception will take place a couple doors down from the ceremony location at the Union Bluff Meeting House. For more information about the wedding venue, visit their website www.unionbluff.com or follow them on Instagram @unionbluff or @ubmeetinghouse.
The ceremony will begin at 5pm. For guests arriving to York Beach on Friday, keep in mind the possibility of Friday traffic. For guests checking into a hotel on Friday, keep in mind that hotel check-in times are often 4pm so consider how this may impact your plans for getting ready and arriving to the ceremony on time. Guests who arrive to the ceremony early are welcome to head to the Union Bluff Pub for a drink. If the weather is nice, ask the bartender for a to-go cup and head across the street from the hotel entrance where there are chairs set up on a small section of grass overlooking the beach, making it a perfect spot to gather and relax before the ceremony begins.
There is complimentary valet parking available at the Union Bluff Hotel. At the end of the wedding, any car keys still with the valet will be left with the hotel front desk. Guests needing to leave their car at the venue overnight must retrieve their car by Saturday morning by 11am. For guests staying at the Union Bluff Hotel, one parking pass is included in the hotel stay.
Due to the variety of hotel options in the area and because there are several hotels within walking distance to the venue, there will not be transportation provided to the wedding. Guests are encouraged to keep this in mind as they consider their plans for the day as well as hotel accommodations.
The dress code is semi-formal with coastal beach vibes. The weather in late September may be warm during the day but cooler as the evening goes on. The bridesmaids will be wearing dusty blue. Please avoid clothing in white, cream, and other similar colors.
As much as we love all the little ones in our life, this wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope that moms and dads are able to enjoy a fun, kid-free night out with us.
Due to the size of our venue and the number of loved ones we’re inviting, we kindly ask that you do not bring a guest unless they are specifically listed on your invitation.
We love our fur baby Chipper and can't imagine getting married without him there with us, but he's still a baby and learning how to manage his excitement when he sees all of his favorite people. We'll decide closer to the wedding day if Chip will be making an appearance for the ceremony or photos. And if not, he'll be celebrating his mom and dad from afar!
RSVP responses are being collected through the wedding website and give guests the opportunity to select a meal choice and share any dietary restrictions. Formal invitations were mailed in mid-August. Please let us know if you'll be joining us in September by submitting your response on the RSVP section of the website. RSVPs are due on September 6. Unfortunately after that date we will be confirming a final headcount with the venue and will not be able to accommodate any additional guests.
There is a space on the RSVP response to share any lingering questions you may have. We will continue to add more information to the wedding website as the wedding date gets closer.
