Even though the ski slopes won't be open yet, there's still plenty to check out in Tahoe! But the best part is the beautiful scenery. So get out, relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature! Check back before the wedding for more recommendations!

Stillwater Spa

Are you ready for a little pampering? Get yourself down to the Stillwater Spa at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe and prepare to relax. The philosophy of the spa reflects the tranquility of the natural surroundings, incorporating the clear waters of the lake and the pure mountain air balanced with the elements of earth and fire in treating your body, mind and soul. Massage styles include deep tissue, sports and hot stone therapy performed in one of their 16 treatment rooms with alpine views. Other body treatments include detoxing mud or herbal wraps, wellness scrubs and facial treatments. Hair, nails, waxing and airbrush tanning are performed in their salon. Choose from several packages with a combination of services including a couple’s treatment for you and your honey in a fireplace suite. Or maybe you just want to relax, take a steam and a sauna and sip a cup of herbal tea.

Grand Lodge Casino is located inside the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe in Incline Village. The casino boasts 20,000 square feet of gaming floor with more than 100 video poker machines ranging from 1 cent to $25. There are an additional 260 slot machines on the floor and check out the promotions calendar to get in on the events and tournaments that take place throughout the year. For those looking for table games, check out the 16 tables offering blackjack, craps and roulette. After all that, check out the casino’s sports book to check that bet on your favorite team or just have a beer and catch a game on the many flat-screen TVs.

Our wedding weekend will be the last weekend of the month to book a wine tasting boat tour! Experience the beauty of Lake Tahoe during the mid-day tour, departing at 11am on the beautiful Golden Rose, while tasting Northern California's great wines. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase bottles of their favorite wines at the end of the tour. Boat tours are approximately 2 hours in length but can last a little longer depending on lake traffic. *Reservations are encouraged*

Sand Harbor Beach

Sand Harbor is one of our favorite spots on Lake Tahoe. It is a public access beach with but they do charge $10 to park. Stop by, walk the beach, have a picnic, and enjoy the view! Sand Harbor is located along State Route 28, just three miles south of Incline Village. The area offers 55 acres of paradise – expansive sandy beaches, rocky coves, and panoramic views of the east shoreline. Families love the shaded picnic areas with tables and barbeques. The paved walkways make them wheel chair accessible and the Sand Harbor Nature Trail is also handicap-accessible. It is 1/3 mile long and offers interpretive signs and gorgeous views. There is also a ½ mile trail to Memorial Point, with access to secluded beaches and rock areas to explore.

Emerald Bay State Park

Emerald Bay State Park includes the Emerald Bay overlook and hiking trails that descend to Vikingsholm, a castle-like house at the shore of the bay, and Fannette Island, the only island in Lake Tahoe. The view from the Emerald Bay overlook (shown above) is a classic Lake Tahoe view, but you may want to include the walk down to Vikingsholm and the tour of this historic house. Be aware that the walk back up is steep, and there are no rides out. Restrooms are available at the bottom of the trail.
