Emma moved to the Outer Banks in high school, where she became super involved in extracurriculars like band, odyssey of the mind, and poetry out loud. After graduation, she attended UNC Chapel Hill’s nursing school. She graduated with honors in 2017, and currently works in labor and delivery in Norfolk, VA. She loves being part of such a miraculous experience every day, and plans to continue her education as a women’s health nurse practitioner in the future. In her free time, she loves cuddling her pup Bella and watching true crime documentaries with Micky.

Michael McClain

After moving to the Outer Banks as a kid, Mick spent his childhood in typical beach bum fashion. Every summer spent on the beach, every winter trying to stay entertained as all the tourist destinations closed down for the season. He was a high school football star and excelled in science classes. Two years after graduating high school, he was accepted at the Fire Academy in Wilson, NC where he excelled and loved every minute of it. After graduation, he moved to Chapel Hill with Emma and supported her while she finished nursing school. When they moved to Greenville, NC he decided to go back to school and become a certified EMT. Since graduating, he now works for Currituck County Fire Department and loves being able to give back to his community.

I’m Tori and I’m the maid of honor! Emma and I met at band orientation the summer before freshman year of high school and we both had picked the flute. That was the start of forever! I recently received my Master of Arts in Sociology at UNCW and worked as the graduate assistant in our LGBTQIA+ Resource Center. I’m now currently living and working near Philadelphia! When I’m not working, I like to go to soul cycle and reenact musicals in my living room.

Corey Browder

Mick and Corey met in the 6th grade in FFMS band class, where they were both tragically terrible at the saxophone. Since then, they’ve been the original partners in crime. Through thick and thin, these two have had each other’s backs. Corey currently lives in Maryland with his girlfriend Holly, where he works as a bartender. He plans to finish college this year at ECU.

Martha Tack

Martha started work as a sales representative for an electrical distributor after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelors in Economics and Management. She and Emma met in high school and participated in Odyssey of the Mind. Their friendship was solidified upon becoming roommates and adopting two adorable kittens...Jay-Z and Frieda. The roommates and cat moms survived many challenging assignments, exams, aerobics class, minimum wage jobs, and the Snow-apocalypse together. Martha is beyond excited to be Emma's bridesmaid and share in many more years of friendship.

Ellec Buchanan

Every friend group needs a resident hipster. After Mick met Ellec in high school, he immediately became part of the crew, completing the original “core four”. Eleven years later, and Mick and Ellec are just as shenanigan-prone as ever. Ellec graduated from Appalachian State University last year and currently lives on the beach and works as a freelance writer.

Tanner and Mick have been friends for so long, neither of them remembers how they originally met. Nevertheless, the memories they’ve made along the way have been pretty memorable! From pickup hockey games at the skate park to midnight paintball games in the back woods of Manteo, these boys have been inseparable from the get-go. Tanner recently married the love of his life, Melissa, and became an amazing step-dad to their kiddo, Blake. Aside from being a new family man, he also saves lives as a firefighter in Nags Head, Duck, and Manteo.

I’m Charlotte! I’ve known Emma since we were two years old. I recently graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Biology, and I currently work in Raleigh. I like traveling, hiking, and photography.

Despite being the old guy of the group, JD is definitely the youngest at heart. After meeting Mick through Corey while they were in college, the two became fast friends and bonded over their shared love of shenanigans. JD currently lives in his hometown of West Lebanon, Indiana and enjoys spending his free time with his treasured family and friends.

I’m Zoe! Emma and I have known each other since we were young and somehow made it through the middle school years together! I’m excited to be a bridesmaid and share in this experience with the rest of the wedding party. I recently graduated and I am currently in my first year of medical school.

Mick likes to say that the reason he and Jacob get along so well is because Jacob’s kind, gentle nature is the glue that holds the group together. As the resident musician of the crew, Jacob spends his free time playing drums in his band and performing at various venues across the Outer Banks.
