This address is for the South-most point of the cliffs. Walk around the park, or go further down Sunset Cliffs Boulevard for an amazing and unobstructed view of the sunset into the sea. You'll see people gathering for the sunset (your weather app will give you the time it goes under, not the time the show starts), but it's beautiful any time of day. You can stay on the top and watch the surfers, or walk along the path by the pier to explore pocket beaches (remember to wait for low tide!).
This is one of San Diego's best attractions. AAA has discounts available. If you're going with a group, it may make sense to see if one of the pass packages is cheaper for you. There are wine and beer kiosks scattered throughout the grounds, and a skyrail to take you from one end to the other. It's surprisingly relaxing to sit on a bench in the birds area and just watch them.
Stroll this Saturday Farmer's Market from 8-2.
This is one of my favorite places to get my nails done. They have complimentary wine, mimosas, and even Vietnamese iced coffee. I'll be there at 10 am on Friday - let me know if you'd like to join me! If that time doesn't work for you, I recommend calling at least week ahead to reserve your spot as they do fill up.
This small tequila and mezcal spot is in our neighborhood and is one of our favorites. We recommend the shrimp cocktail with lots of serranos stirred in, washed down with a blood orange margarita with tajin on the rim.
This restaurant is walking distance from your hotel! This chain started in LA. Come in to order key lime pie made from avocados, or mushroom lattes. There's also some pretty delicious meals. Everything is labeled by allergen with lots of innovative substitutions!
Come here for the best acai bowl in San Diego! Stay in the shop to eavesdrop on the locals, or take it to go and stroll along the beach. Bobby, this place attracts a lot of hippies. FYI.
This locals-focused coffee bar is the perfect spot to grab a drink before you walk along the beach. Tell Christiana and Nick hello for us!
This studio offers your first class for free, and a 2 week unlimited pack for $20 if you're planning to come often. They also rent mats. When you're looking at the schedule, make sure you're looking at the specific studio you're interested in. There are two. Parking can be difficult at either one. When they ask, say Katy referred you.
They offer parasailing and hang gliding here with a view of Black's Beach (it's nude). If you're going, maybe wait until after the wedding to avoid the possibility of crutches. It's also a pretty place to watch the show.
Head here for hikes along the La Jolla coast. You can make it down to the beach or stay up on the cliffs. When you're done, swing by La Jolla cove to watch the seals and sea lions. This is an easy add on to a trip to the glider port.
