Our love story began on social media. I know, how romantic. But, in all seriousness, Morgan was that bright light that I needed when she came into my life. She was funny, smart, and truly cared about people. I think that is what I appreciate the most about her; how much she cares, and her ability to establish deep and meaningful relationships with not only myself, but the people around her. When we first met I was living in Springfield and she was living in Clinton. I was going to school at Missouri State and she was planning on attending UCM in Warrensburg after she graduated in the Spring. For some people, transferring colleges for someone might seem like an impractical decision, but for me I knew it was what I wanted to. We both attended UCM the fall after she graduated high school and have been living together ever since. We have been together for five years now, but every day seems like a new adventure when you have someone as fun and light as Morgan to call "the one".
Our love story began as I scrolled through Twitter one day. I came across a tweet where Michael said something about not being attractive and I took the chance and slid into his DM's. I was so anxious waiting for a response because he was BEAUTIFUL and older. He eventually responded and my heart skipped a beat. We would stay awake for hours talking about any and everything. Michael was everything I didn't even know I wanted, he was quite literally my saving grace. We finished my senior year of high school with him driving back and forth from Missouri State and me sneaking away (and getting into lots of trouble). We both made the transition to UCM after I graduated and have been inseparable ever since. Five years later and we have both grown into our best selves and continue to grow in love every single day. I couldn't imagine a life without Michael and I never want to. He pushes me to reach farther than my goals and is always there to support any and every opportunity I encounter. He gives me the butterflies every day, as well as a new reason to love him even more than I already do. Michael is my dream come true, and I can't wait to marry this sweet sweet man.
On February 11, 2017, I went to work just like any other Saturday morning. When I got off, Michael told me to get ready to go on a date to the city. I was tired from work, so it took a lot of convincing, but finally gave in and dressed up for a date to the city. I figured they would go to RA Sushi and then do whatever their hearts desired. As we got closer to the city, Michael said we were going to take a detour to a place I had wanted to go visit for our anniversary, the Lock Bridge in Lee's Summit, and check it out before we actually went on our anniversary. We got there and walked the path up to the bridge. We looked at all of the different locks on the bridge and admired the view. At the end of the bridge, I spotted Cooper (our first fur baby) and said "Is that my dog?!" As he ran towards us. Once he got to us, Michael reached down and grabbed a ring off of Cooper's collar and before I knew it he was down one knee asking me to marry him. After blubbering out a YES, Michael pulled out a lock that said McQueen and two keys that said Mr and Mrs. He said, "Today we'll lock in this special day so that we have it forever, and any other special day we have after today, we will come and lock in the date here on this bridge." So we locked the lock and officially began our journey towards forever.
