In the summer of 2013 Matt Egan, attempting to help Peter find a job in Boston, introduced Peter to his neighbor from Drakes, Charlie, who was a manager at EnerNOC. Peter sent an overly formal email beginning "Dear Mr. McQuillan" begging for work, which did not result in a job. Sadly, that email is lost to history. Peter and Charlie first met in person at Coogan's Irish Pub in Boston during a $1 Bud Light night - Charlie remembers the shirt Peter was wearing. Peter does not remember meeting Charlie. Charlie and Peter therefore, properly met on St. Patrick's Day of 2014, at a party that Charlie was throwing for himself, since his birthday is on March 15. After a couple fun dates through the summer, Peter left Boston that August to begin law school in DC. They stayed in touch by regularly texting. Finally, in October of 2015, a full 14 months after Peter had left Boston, they decided they needed to give this relationship thing a proper try. Peter asked Charlie if he had any plans for Halloween, and if not, if Charlie would want to meet in New York where Peter would be staying with Egan. Charlie said he had no plans and they met up in NYC for Halloween, which kicked off a series of back and forth visits, and fun trips together. They officially started dating in February of 2016. Peter found out years later that Charlie had been planning on hosting a party that fateful Halloween, which he cancelled last minute telling his guests something like "I've got to go see about a boy." After doing long distance for a little over a year, things were starting to feel serious, and the two decided that, despite loving their super fun visits up and down the East Coast, it might make sense to live in the same city. So, Charlie bravely moved away from Boston for the first time in his life to live in DC, where the perfect couple lived for two years before Charlie's admission to Architecture school brought the pair to Denver, where they currently live in loving bliss.
