When We Met

August 8, 2012

AKA #WhenHodelMetMotel We met on the Fiddler on the Roof national tour in 2012. Greg was first captivated by Liz’s energy and passion and Liz was taken by the nerd in the TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) jacket at the first day of rehearsal. Through the adventures of touring life, they grew as friends and as a couple. After tour they experienced the challenges of enduring a long distance relationship as Liz performed in Alaska, California and Florida while Greg went on to find a home for them in New York City and embarked on a 3 year graduate program journey at the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Through their five years together their love and passion grew just as much for each other as it did for their craft and artistry. Today they enjoy every artistic opportunity, vacations to see family and friends, and date nights! They learned/are still learning how to balance a life with each other while being artistically fulfilled though never forgetting what is most important each and every day - each other.

Top of the Rock: Our Engagement

December 17, 2017

Greg's proposal idea stemmed from a 15 hour bus ride on Thanksgiving during their 'Fiddler' tour when they arrived in Corning, NY. Greg suggested that they go to a nearby ice rink and go ice skating. While on the rink as they were bundled in winter clothes, the melody of a love song playing overhead and their hands clasped together, he looked at her and knew Liz was “the one.” Greg meticulously planned to return to the rink, found the perfect ring, reserved a rental car, and finally asked permission from her parents. He was sure to sweep Liz off her feet. The night before the proposal, Liz was told she would be travelling outside of the city for an adventurous “Christmas Day” lunch with friends. Though Greg had everything in order, he didn’t know that mother nature had other plans. The intended proposal morning came and the cold winds blew, snow/rain fell and the streets of New York had become an ice rink themselves. Realizing this wasn’t how it was to happen, he cancelled his previous plans. But where would he propose? He suggested their “Christmas Day” be spent taking in the sights of the city taking in the Macy’s window displays, walking around Bryant Park and having dinner at one of their favorite Thai restaurants - [the ring burning a hole in Greg's pocket.] After dinner, they decided to go to the top of Rockefeller Center. Over the noise of tourists, Greg began his “speech” and Liz, not knowing what was happening, walked away. Then fate arrived. Only one woman was standing by the edge taking pictures and immediately Greg saw this was it - he would ask this stranger to take their picture (as he always does when they go out) and as the pictures were being taken, he’d kneel and ask Liz to marry him. Greg asked the stranger and secretly told her to “just keep taking pictures." While the pictures were being taken, he knelt and as Liz started to ugly cry, they held hands and he asked what he’d been wanting to for so long. She said YES!
