we’re getting married!

Sometimes the best things in your life come to you when you aren't even looking. They just show up unexpectedly and then all of a sudden, you can't remember how your life was before. That's how it happened for us. We were strangers in high school. Matthew would come in to eat at Bevrick's almost every day and we never spoke outside of awkward small talk. Then one day, his boss asked me for my phone number on his behalf. He said that Matthew talked about me all the time. I, of course, thought it was a joke and politely declined. The next day, they came in to eat again. They all sat down at their usual table and I, after lots and lots of thought, ran by the table and slapped my number down. Shortly after, we coordinated our first date and have been together every single day since then.

Matthew took me to Light of the South with his family. There were thousands of christmas lights, and we were surrounded by his family. After taking a hay ride around the property to see all of the beautiful lights, we walked into a chariot made up of white lights. We sat in it for some pictures and that's when he dropped down to one knee and asked me to marry him. Between the ugly crying, I managed to get out a YES!
