They say you can’t find true love at the county jail — but Shelby and David proved otherwise. Their story began at the Oklahoma County Jail, where Shelby worked as an intake nurse and David, as an OCPD officer. After crossing paths many times, David finally worked up the courage to send Shelby a message on November 18th. One conversation quickly turned into many, and less than a month later, they went on their first date on December 12th. By December 18th, they were officially together. Just days later, life tested them in an unimaginable way when Shelby’s brother tragically passed away. That same day, David was supposed to leave for Colorado for Christmas. Instead of leaving Shelby and her two children behind, he chose to stand by her side — and invited them to come with him.
