How we met

when online dating goes right!

Geno and I met online, of all places. We were both Nashville transplants trying to meet new people. I messaged him expressing interest and he flat out rejected me. Apparently, I was too young. He asked me to prove why I thought we should get to know each other. I was taken aback but, of course, I love a challenge. Eventually, he gave in and we started talking every day. He introduced me to the wonderful world of board games and I fell in love almost immediately. He became my best friend much faster than I expected and even though he didn't want to be in a relationship he quickly realized I was worth it.

The Proposal!

I said yes! Obviously!

So on a random Friday in December (12/1/17) Geno was acting weird. I didn't know what was going on but he seemed nervous and was paying a lot of attention to Gizmo. He kept trying to get him into my lap and finally started throwing dog toys at my face. It was starting to frustrate me. Eventually, I noticed that Gizmo's collar was different. When I went in to investigate I saw a golden snitch. I opened it up like a locket and it read "will you marry me?" on the inside. I was in shock. I looked up and Geno was on his knee with the most beautiful ring. Overwhelmed with emotion, we both started crying and hugging. It took awhile for the shock to wear off and Geno had to ask again to finally get me to verbalize the yes. I guess the past 6 months of me hinting that it was what I wanted wasn't enough for him. The ring was exactly what I wanted. Blue Topaz stone with antiqued detailing on each side, set in white gold. The proposal was perfect (I mean he included Gizmo!) and he is everything to me <3
