As much as we love all your kiddos, this is an adults event. We have to limit guest count for children only of the family and wedding party due to seating.
Dress in whatever you are comfortable in for the Friday night welcome reception. Casual is just fine. You may decide to explore Main Street before or after so come as you are! Saturday night is cocktail attire. Cocktail attire bridges the gap between casual and formal.
Before your trip to Colorado, and while you are here, drinking plenty of water is the number one way to help your body adjust easily to our higher altitude. The low humidity in Colorado keeps the air dry, like the desert, so you need about twice as much water here as you would drink at home. It takes about 24 to 36 hours to acclimate. Denver is at 5280 feet and Breckenridge is at 9603 feet. Listen to your body. If you start to feel lightheaded or short of breath, sit down, take it easy, and hydrate. The 02 Lounge is an oxygen bar right on Main St. They have been so gracious to offer all guests at the wedding a 15% discount anytime between 7/20-7/24. Traffic can be quite heavy both Saturday and Sunday coming from Denver and heading back. Please be mindful and plan accordingly. It's wise to pad an additional 60-90 minutes just in case.
During the day it will typically be in the high 60's to mid 70's. That may sound cooler, but at the elevation, it will feel much warmer than you anticipate. It tends to get cooler at night and when the sun goes down, so a sweater and/or jacket is necessary. Layers are your best bet. Also, the summer tends to bring afternoon showers, so have that umbrella or raincoat ready.
Renting a car is not a “must do”. If you don’t have any plans on exploring Colorado outside of Breckenridge, then a shuttle is likely the most cost effective. The travel page has the link for the airport shuttle to and from. Breckenridge also has a free bus system that can take you all over the place. However, if you do not rent a car, it is highly suggested you stay within walking distance of Main Street.
Epic Mountain Express will shuttle all guests from the "F" Lot in Breckenridge. The shuttles will start running approximately at 3pm MST. They will make a continuous loop until all guests have been transported. Please arrive at the "F" Lot no later than 3:00pm MST. Please note: driving to the venue is not allowed. The "F" Lot is located on S. Park Avenue. Directly across the street from the Village at Breckenridge. There are signs identifying it and it is the UPPER lot next to the lot behind the River Walk. It is within walking distance from any of the Vail Resort Properties on the Travel Page and parking is available for those who prefer not to walk.
