Alyssa and Scott both attended the Colorado School of Mines and majored in Petroleum Engineering one year apart from each other. Scott was a teacher's assistant in one of Alyssa's classes her Junior year, but he only met her pretty handwriting while grading papers in Colorado because she was too smart to need any help with homework. After they both graduated, Alyssa began working in Hobbs, America for six months before Chevron decided to transfer her to the tall city of Midland, TX where Scott had been working for a couple of years. On Alyssa's first weekend out on the town, she attended a Josh Abbot Band concert with a friend at Graham's Central Station in Odessa. Little did she know that Scott would also be at the concert with friends and her brown leather jacket and punk rocker shoes would catch his eye in the sea of Wranglers and Stetsons. Even though neither one of them really knew how to two-step, Scott "taught" Alyssa to dance with him and the next night they attended a Casey Donahue concert to keep practicing. From that moment on, they wanted to keep doing all of their adventures in Midland and beyond together. Alyssa and Scott have continued dating, traveling, and having fun with friends since that memorable weekend in 2013, and would like to invite friends and family to celebrate their union in Grand Cayman as they take the next (two-) step in life together.
