West Rattlesnake Mountain
If you're looking for a low-effort, high-reward hike, West Rattlesnake is an excellent choice! It is one of our favorite and most-frequented hikes! This 2-mile hike is fairly easy, very well groomed (with built-in stairs), and offers a spectacular views of Squam Lake and Lake Winnipesaukee. It is appropriate for children, adults, and dogs. The trailhead for Old Bridle Path (leading to the summit) is located in Holderness, New Hampshire along Route 113. Walter's Basin
If you're looking for a post-hike trail reward (or simply some excellent food) Walter's Basin is a great choice. Offering delicious food, great service, and beautiful views of Squam Lake, this is one of our favorite haunts. Some may also be familiar with the restaurant's nod to Walter, the elusive bass of On Golden Pond (which was filmed on Squam Lake). If you visit, make sure to try the Basin's french onion soup. The best in the lakes region!
Meredith Village
Needless to say, we love Meredith! Just a 25 minute drive from Plymouth and located on Lake Winnipesaukee, Meredith has tons of great restaurants, bars, and attractions that are easily walkable to each other. Here are some of our favorite places: George's Diner: classic, diner breakfast & lunch in a casual setting The Breeze: excellent food and cocktails with lake views Lakehouse Grille at Church Landing: great food & drinks in a cozy atmosphere with lake views Camp: classic American fare in a summer-camp themed setting Twin Barns Brewing: great food and beer in a modern barn Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant: cozy, nostalgic, and (you guessed it) perfect for turkey lovers! *Though most of these places are walkable to each other, Twin Barns and Harts will require a short drive from Meredith Village center.
Mill Falls Marketplace—Meredith
Also located in Meredith Village, Mill Falls Marketplace offers a nice collection of shops, a cafe, and bakery.
The Spa at Common Man Inn
Located right in the Common Man Inn, the spa offers a variety of services.
Cascade Spa at Church Landing
Cascade Spa at Church Landing offers a wide range of services. Visit the Lakehouse Grille (also located at Church Landing) afterwards for a pre- or post-spa snack or drink!
