We met four years ago at a now extinct brewery. Nicole was hanging out with their mutual friend Antoine when Colin texted him to meet up. They started talking about music at the bar and the rest, they say, is history.
We had only seen each other a few times over the next couple of years. After we started talking more frequently, Colin decided to ask Nicole to go to a Mae concert (with no indication that it was a date).
After a lot more concerts Nicole didn't know were dates, she decided to ask "So what are we doing?" To which Colin replied, "Well, I don't really want to be friends anymore". Which was perfect, because she'd been waiting 2 years to hear that.
Colin asked his friends for engagement ring advice and was even lucky enough to have one of his groomsmen, Jeff, go with him to pick out the perfect ring for Nicole when she was traveling for work. He couldn’t think of anything better than to propose at a concert for a band that they both love. Obviously, Colin was nervous the whole night trying to figure out the best time to propose at a loud concert venue and they were up near the front of the stage. With the smoothness of rough sandpaper, he told Nicole he needed some air and convinced her to come outside with him. As soon as they got outside, Colin got down on one knee, said some words through tears that neither of them can exactly remember, and Nicole said yes!
We’re doin the damn thing!
