When the weather is nice, the VMFA offers lovely outdoor space. You'll see groups of people gathering on blankets, enjoying snacks/drinks & socializing. Will and I spent a lot of time here while we lived in the Museum District, especially during COVID! It holds a special place in our heart and the museum itself also has wonderful exhibits.
Delicious Sandwich Shop! Casual spot in The Fan; hole in the wall vibes. There is a cute park across the street with a playground.
Sandwich shop in the near West End (very close to St. Bridget Church)! Grove Ave is a great area to stroll, browse and shop the many stores and boutiques located around there.
Plenty of shopping and places to grab a bite or a drink! We love Les Crepes Patio for a refreshing beverage outside.
Looking to get outdoors and check out gorgeous views of Richmond? Head to the Potterfield Memorial Bridge, often referred to as "The Pedestrian Bridge" by locals. The pedestrian bridge is both walking and biking friendly, sitting above a former hydroelectric dam in our beloved James River. The bridge connects Brown's Island with Manchester and showcases some really fabulous views of both the city and the river. After you finish walking the bridge, check out Brown's Island (where lots of festivals and concerts are held) and the Canal Walk. End your walk at Casa Del Barco on the canal for some Mexican food and drinks.
Lively indoor/outdoor space with plenty to eat and drink. Often have live music on the weekends! Very casual.
Industrialized area that has transformed into one of Richmond's most sought after residential neighborhoods. Full of tons of breweries (Ardent, Starr Hill, etc.) and plenty of restaurants. Very walkable throughout.
