Joel and Erin met over 15 years ago at Joel's cousin's house. Erin spent most of high school there. A couple years later, the two quickly became good friends. They worked together, as well as spent time together outside of work. They spent many hours making each other laugh and being each other's confidants. Their first official date was on June 6, 2014 and we saw "The Fault in Our Stars". Although Erin cries at most any movie or TV show, she refused to cry on their first date. They still joke about that today. It took the happy couple a few tries to get it right, but it was well worth the wait. Just like a fine wine, they got better with age - and maturity. Once they became the people they needed to be, there was no denying they were going to spend the rest of their lives loving each other. The couple feels incredibly lucky they get to spend everyday navigating life's adventures with their best friend by their side.
Thanks to pandemic life and the impatience of the groom, the couple eloped March 17, 2021 in Erin's dad's backyard. Joel refers to this as their "DMV wedding" - which is a term the bride doesn't agree with. He says they were "just signing paperwork" and the real wedding is July 2, 2022. Even after that, he lives to tell the tale and the couple laughs about it now. The couple exchanged vows promising to respect and support each other, always be each others best friend and trusted companion, to love each other unconditionally and to always be honest with each other for the rest of their lives.
