Instead of studying for finals, we met at Presque Isle for a beach day with a group of friends. We were matched as teammates for beach games, dominated our opponents, and wound up being matched as teammates for life.

After months of traveling to visit each other, we both felt that our relationship was getting pretty serious. On August 7th, 2015, we went on our first dinner date where we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. Fast forward to August 7th, 2021 when we will be celebrating our wedding as well as our six-year (dating) anniversary.

"After a rough day of work, I decided to leave early and make my way to Pittsburgh to visit Preston. Oblivious to what was actually going on, Preston had been trying to get ahold of my dad all day to ask for his blessing to propose that evening. He couldn't ask sooner because my dad is horrible at keeping a secret and this was a pretty big one. After almost 7 hours of trying to reach him, guess who calls? I do, telling him I'm almost there! Imagine the panic - HAHA! Fortunately, my dad FINALLY calls Preston back just in time, sincerely apologizes, and happily gives his blessing while hiding in his bathroom so my mom wouldn't hear. While I was parking my car, Preston was secretly setting up his camera to record the proposal. I get inside, we rush upstairs, and I immediately see a cute pumpkin on his desk. He had me go over to it and open it up to reveal a note containing the four words I've been waiting my whole life to hear, "Will you marry me?" After rehearsing the lines in his head prior to the proposal, Preston gets down on one knee, blacks out, and forgets everything he prepared. Fortunately, he remembered the most important words, "Will you marry me?!" Of course, I said yes!!! As I bawl hysterically, he then recites sweet words to me that I cannot remember for the life of me. What I do know is my bad day turned incredible and I was finally going to marry my best friend." -Jenna

Dr. Preston McMeans officially graduated dental school in May 2020 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He is currently completing a one-year residency program at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio, and recently signed with a private practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Jenna works remotely in business development for two digital companies, Gugu Guru and FurSherpa. Both companies have a similar model and aim to help new parents (Gugu Guru) or new puppy parents (FurSherpa) with finding the right products they need for their expanding family. We've recently welcomed a fur baby of our own to the family named Oakley. She is a spunky and loveable golden retriever mix who celebrates her birthday on August 5th, 2020.
