Things To Do

Stracci's Pizza

106 Hume Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22301

Stracci’s is one of our favorite restaurants. If you’re planning to extend your stay and have the opportunity to drive, we highly recommend enjoying dinner at Stracci’s in Alexandria — it’s a truly wonderful dining experience.

Carbonara

3865 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203

Carbonara, where we celebrated our engagement, serves some of the most incredible authentic Italian cuisine — it’s one of our (many) Italian favorites.

Library of Congress

101 Independence Avenue Southeast, Washington, DC 20540

If you have the opportunity to explore downtown D.C., we highly recommend visiting the Library of Congress. It houses Thomas Jefferson’s personal collection and features stunning architecture and art — an experience you won’t want to miss.

Shenandoah National Park

VA

Just a 45-minute drive from Warrenton, VA, Shenandoah National Park offers many hiking options and is perfect either for a leisurely walk or longer hike with a view. Here are some easy and family-friendly hikes to consider: Blackrock Summit Trail: A 1.8-mile round-trip hike featuring a relatively flat trail leading to a rocky outcrop with panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley and Massanutten Mountain. Limberlost Trail: This 1.3-mile loop is the park's only fully accessible trail, offering a smooth, shaded path through a beautiful forest, making it ideal for families and those seeking a leisurely walk. Dark Hollow Falls Trail: A 1.4-mile round-trip hike that descends to a picturesque 70-foot waterfall. While the return trip is uphill, the trail is short and offers a beautiful view. Stony Man Trail: A 1.5-mile round-trip hike leading to one of the park's most accessible summits, offering sweeping vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
