A great spot for breakfast or brunch on Kiawah Island located within The Sanctuary. We recommend the Chicken & Waffles or the Shrimp & Grits, two of our favorites!
If you have a free night, dinner at the Atlantic Room is our favorite. Located at the Ocean Course, it provides the best ocean views on the Island. Our recommendation is to grab a drink at the Ryder Cup Bar right next door to watch the stunning sunset and then make your way to dinner.
Our absolute favorite thing to do on Kiawah is bike around! They have 30 miles of bike paths available to explore, full of wildlife and nature. We can promise you stunning views you won't find anywhere else! You can rent those at the bike rental station located right in front of The Sanctuary. Beach chairs are also available to rent at the beach behind The Sanctuary.
Really great BBQ option located at the Osprey Point Club House on Kiawah Island. Great food, beautiful sunset viewing, and if you're lucky you might even see a few alligators at the pond below the restaurant. Michael and I agree it has the best gator viewing on the island!
Located at the Night Heron park on Kiawah Island, the Nest is a Cafe + Market. Perfect for grabbing coffee, breakfast, or a quick bite for lunch, as well as any market items you may need during your stay. It's connected to the park, pool, and gym.
Freshfields Village is a luxury outdoor shopping village filled with anything you may need. Located 5 minutes outside the Kiawah Resort Gate, we often bike here from within the resort. This is where the Andell Inn is located. A few of our favorites here are Java Java coffee shop, Kiawah Spirits (make sure to stroll in during one of their local bourbon tastings), King Street Grille for dinner, FortyEight for a drink & bite, and our favorite Vincent's Drug Store & Soda Fountain for some ice cream.
Our favorite cafe to visit while in Kiawah. It's on the way into Kiawah as you're coming in from Charleston. They are Veteran owned and family operated, you'll feel that as soon as you walk in the door! They make the BEST chicken biscuit, we get this every time we go. Highly recommend!! Also on your way into Kiawah make a quick stop to Angel Oak, one of the oldest trees east of the Mississippi River. It's free!
While in Charleston don't miss a visit to Rainbow Row, Pineapple Fountain & Waterfront Park, Cypress Gardens (where the Notebook was filmed!), as well a some of the best shopping on King Street. The antique shops and art galleries are our personal favorites.... and by ours I mean Allison's :)
Best place to grab coffee & breakfast. Amazing pastries & fun environment, located in a great area to walk around in the charming and historic French Quarter of Charleston.
If you're looking for some oysters or seafood in general, this is the best spot. Located right on King Street, great at anytime!
Michael's personal favorite, this should be stop #1 on your Southern BBQ adventure. Everything is a hit, you can't go wrong. You MUST get a sweet tea though, general advice for everywhere while you are in the South.
This is stop #2 on your BBQ adventure, if your stomach can handle. No Rodney Scott meal is complete without banana pudding!
If time permits, spend some time in Mount Pleasant. Your first stop should be the famous Post House Inn, great lunch spot and the most charming inn you can find.
