Question

I've never been to a Catholic Mass - what should I expect?

Answer

At the beginning of the ceremony the officiant will give a brief welcome and the Mass will begin, the church will be full of Catholics that do this every Sunday - if in doubt, follow along with the people who look like they know what they're doing ;) To put it simply - if you are not comfortable/able you are more than welcome to remain seated for the duration of the ceremony. There will be times when everyone stands, and when they kneel, if you feel inclined you are welcome to follow along with the group. When it is time for communion we ask that only practicing Catholics accept communion - the officiants will offer a blessing for anyone else who would like it, simply follow the line and cross your arms once you reach the officiant. There will be a program available with the specific readings for our wedding Mass, it will also have more information available for you. We appreciate your interest and willingness to join us!

Are children welcome?

Answer

While we adore each and every one of your littles, we do have limited capacity at the venue, for this reason only children in the wedding party and in the bride and grooms immediate family will be invited. If your child is invited their name will be listed on your wedding invitation. We kindly invite you to treat this night as a date night - enjoy dancing, dinner, and drinks on us!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

RSVP forms will be addressed to each of the guests we are able to accommodate. Your RSVP form will indicate if an invited guest has a plus 1 or not - we do have limited capacity at the reception venue, and we have worked very hard to ensure that our guests have some mutual friends to mingle with during the reception. We kindly ask that only those with a plus 1 indicated on their RSVP form bring a guest.
