Let's take it back all the way to sophomore year of high school! That was our first year having a class together and maybe even our first time really noticing each other. We were in multiple classes together throughout our time at Ball High, even sat close to each other plenty but did we speak?? NOOOO! Turns out we both had the hugest crush on one another but were so shy that approaching each other was OUT of the question, let alone simply saying "I think you're cute!" or "wanna hang out?". Eye contact alone was mortifying. He thought I was sooo smart and so pretty, out of his league. I thought he was the cutest guy in class, and just so cool. The mysteriously quiet type. Haha! High school graduation came and went, yet we never had our moment. We continued to creep on each other over the years after high school via Facebook. Silently keeping tabs. Liking photos here and there. Trading little mild flirtatious comments. Making sure the other wasn't completely off the market for good but still nothing. In May 2020, after receiving one of the many notifications that Steven had liked one of my photos on social media, I finally worked up the nerve to just ask "you just gonna keep liking my pics or you gonna come get me?". I was finally feeling big enough to risk it all. Worst he could say was "no", right?? Welp, that man actually came and got me. From that very first date May 2020, which happened to be my birthday, we became inseparable. I was living in California at the time and our courtship was managing to stand the test of distance and time. Since then, and since transitioning back to living in Texas, we don't know who has the other more wrapped around their finger. Fast forward to 2025 and we're finally joining each other in matrimony, something we never would've expected as shy, skinny, awkward teenagers avoiding each other in class at Ball High. Not only do we spend many moments today trading "I love you" back and forth but, asking the other "what took you so long?". Finally getting hitched into the Hartnett's.
