What an amazing day it was! Earlier in the week, Peyton called me and told me that one of his friends was getting engaged and we were going to an engagement party for them on Monday. At the time, I was in Sag Harbor with the family I babysit. When it was time for me to come home on Sunday, Peyton was texting me every minute saying, “You can’t miss that plane”, “Are you on the plane yet?”, “Did you make it home?” I just thought, oh he just misses me, but little did I know, he didn’t want to have to replan the proposal. A day passed and I headed to his house for this “engagement party”. I get to his house around 4:30pm and he had on jeans and a nice white button down, which is great to wear to a party. He then told me he got a new jacket he was going to wear and I said “Pey it’s 1000 degrees outside but whatever”. So we head to this party which is at the Columns in Bolivar, TN. On the way he tells me that everyone is already at the party so we can park in the front and I didn’t think anything about it...until we pulled basically to the front door. We got out of the car and he said “Let’s go walk thru the garden, want to?” And I said “I mean the party is inside but sure, let’s go.” We started walking and I was a little suspicious about this “engagement party.” We then got to the end of the sidewalk and he got down on one knee. Oh, I was so surprised!! After it happened, I started asking the questions “so who all knows?”, “do my parents know?” “Does Mary Ellis and Avery know?” He says “Yes! Everyone knows! We get in the car and he said “By the way we are going to Hernando to go eat with our parents. I didn’t think anything about it. We pull up to my house and all my friends and family were waiting to greet us. It was a wonderful evening, filled with friends and family gathering to celebrate!
