Modern day romance…one day when scrolling through the dating app Hinge, Kara came across McKinley’s profile and sent him a rose. When they matched, she sent him a one liner about Pokémon and that’s when the two hit it off. Shortly after matching, the two agreed to meet for a drink at Frogger’s in Altamonte Springs after one of Kara’s volleyball league games. Unbeknownst to McKinley, Kara actually roped him into a double date with her friend Chelsea and her new beau, Nick. After a few rounds of pool and darts, Nick and Chelsea left the other two lovebirds to enjoy the rest of their date. A short two weeks later on 5/28/2022, McKinley and Kara decided to start their journey together, and the rest is history!

During Kara’s family “White Elephant” gift exchange, McKinley picked up a gift bag from under the tree and asked Kara to come look at the present inside. When she came over, he pulled out the ring, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him in front of her family. Nodding, she eagerly accepted.
