Yes and no; We did run off to Scotland in September of 2024 to exchange our vows privately just the two of us as we had always imagined. My vows alone were 8 minutes long, so you're welcome ;p. Our day in the Scottish Highlands was magical but alas it wasn't legal. It was always the plan to celebrate our marriage with our loved ones so come help us make it legal, with a quick ceremony and a lot of love, laughter and libations.
Absolutely, the invitations went out however you registered your address. We apologize if it has been confusing or misleading- Everyone can bring a plus one/significant other/husband/wife/kids/grandma, second cousin- whomever. Just make sure to note it when RSVPing so we can ensure we have an accurate count. If anyone wants to bring a Scottish Cow as their plus one, you will instantly be my favorite person for life. (A girl can dream)
There is no formal dress code, though for the sake of others we do encourage you to wear clothing. Patrick will likely be falling to his knees over and over again on the dance floor so you might want to leave room in those outfits for movement.
Of course we will feed you, though we are leaning towards not having a formal sit-down dinner there will be plenty of appetizers and main courses for you to grab as you please throughout the night should we go that route. Knowing me it will probably be a gametime decision. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know. We want to ensure we have options for everyone. No restriction is silly, even gluten, we believe you!
Yup! We want all our loved ones there including the mini ones. I (Katelyn) was a nanny for years and for the most part prefers children to adults, so I fully plan on ensuring there are fun activities for kids to do throughout the night. This is of course completely up to you. We won't judge you if you choose to drop them off with a sitter and get out of dodge for a night!
Patrick and I know rain on our wedding day all too well, we were drenched for our entire Scottish Ceremony. Luckly for all of you we won't be on a mountain, and we will have tents to keep us dry.
You can RSVP right here on the website, though if you prefer to do it the old-fashioned way, we won't stop you, but please take caution, we've all seen that Seinfeld episode. #ripSusan
