The word "convalidation" comes from the Latin word meaning "to firm up" or "to strengthen." A convalidation ceremony is a religious ceremony for a Catholic couple to be legally wed under Canon Law. This ceremony legitimizes the civil marriage in the eyes of the church and God.
A convalidation ceremony is not all that different from a traditional Catholic wedding. However, our ceremony will be taking place outside of Mass, therefore the Eucharist will not be distributed. We encourage you to plan accordingly since this will be taking place on Sunday.
