How We Met

6.10.16

We met at our jobs at Celebration Cinema. Nights working together selling tickets in the box office sparked a fun friendship. Soon enough we had both developed a little crush. We brought out each other's goofy sides and he taught me how to be sweet and sappy. We would write each other little notes throughout our shifts together, some of which I still have today! Finally, he asked me out and we went on our first date to see Now You See Me 2 and get breakfast at our now staple, East Egg.

The 7 years between

First comes school, then comes marriage

In the Fall of 2016, I moved to Ann Arbor to start school at the University of Michigan. Parker moved back to South Bend to continue at Indiana University. After a rough first year doing long distance, Parker transferred to UofM and we were able to continue our relationship in our favorite place. The next 3 years consisted of football games, tailgates, club baseball games, late night study sessions, fraternity formals, and meeting some of the best people that we've ever met. When the pandemic came in 2020, we finished school and moved into our first apartment in Farmington Hills. We also welcomed our sweet puppy and pride and joy, Mookie, into our family. I was accepted into and started Physician Assistant school in 2021 and we packed up and moved to Toledo. Those 2 years were the most challenging in my life, and Parker was my biggest supporter. He was not only my biggest supporter, but also moved home to help support his family and ended up joining his mother's business. We continued our long distance relationship in the last year of PA school and eventually moved back home to Portage, MI in April of this year. We bought our first home, I graduated, and finally became engaged!

The Proposal

7.14.23

We had planned a trip to Chicago (my favorite city) to attend a Cubs game to distract my Dad from his surprise birthday party that we were planning back home. When my sister, my Dad, Parker, and I got to the hotel, we were trying to plan what to do before going to the game. Everyone kept asking what I wanted to do and I chose to get a drink at the rooftop bar, then head to Navy Pier. At Navy Pier, we went on a sailboat; Parker was going to pop the question here, but the cruise ended up being pirate themed. So, we got off the boat, and my sister said she wanted a picture of all of us by the water for my stepmom. So she kept asking me where I thought we should take the picture. I picked my favorite place, and then her and my dad walked away while Parker asked. At first, I thought it was a joke, so I told him no and asked him to get up. He, of course, reassured me and then I said "YES!" His main goal was to catch me by surprise, and he certainly did! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in September!
