Question
Important information for Van Dusen Botanical Gardens
Answer
There will be signage directing you from the plaza in the parking lot throughout the pathway in the Garden leading up to Heron Lake. Once you RSVP, your name will be given to the admission staff at Van Dusen so that you can check-in. The Van Dusen liaison will be stationed in the Visitor Centre to greet you, check you in and offer directions to Heron Lake starting approximately an hour before the start of the ceremony. The groomsmen will also be there to help guide your way, however we do recommend coming early as the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm.

Can I bring a guest?

If your guest name is listed on your formal invitation and when you RSVP, then yes! Otherwise, we would love to keep our wedding as an intimate event with our closest friends and family.

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?
Answer
The ceremony will take place at Heron Lake under the willow tree at the Van Dusen Botanical Gardens. Please arrive early as it is a beautiful walk through the garden to get to the ceremony site. We will have our groomsmen guiding your way through the garden. Cocktail hour will begin immediately following the ceremony in the garden at Hycroft Manor (10 min drive from Van Dusen). Dinner will be held outside on the terrace at Hycroft (weather permitting) Dancing will be held in the ballroom at Hycroft at the end of the evening. *Please keep in mind there will be lots of grass as you are picking out your footwear.

How do we get there?

There is limited parking at both Van Dusen Botanical Gardens and Hycroft manor, we recommend using Uber as it is very accessible from these locations.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
We love to see or family and friends get dressed up with us. We're requesting semi-formal/formal garden attire for our fairytale wedding. Please no jeans or shorts. Wear whatever colour you like, just please no cream or white. While picking the perfect pair of shoes, please keep in mind the ceremony will be on soft grass.
