We're getting married!!

We met through a mutual friend while we were both living in Omaha. Our friend Breck decided to knock on her neighbors door to try and make a new friend. I (McKenzie) happened to be cat sitting for the neighbor so she invited me over to hang out. We became instant friends. She decide to invite her friend (ryan) from high school over one night when I (McKenzie) was hanging out with her. It took a few months and Ryan moving to Salina, KS for us to realize we had deep feeling for each other. I (McKenzie) eventually convinced him long distance would work. Now we are getting married so clearly I was correct.

We started dating January 31, 2022. Ryan had just moved to Salina, KS and I was still in college working toward my bachelors degree. We did long distance for 2 years. It had its difficulties but ultimately we both worked to make it last. Constant driving back and forth for both of us. I'll be honest he did most of the driving because his family is in Omaha but I will always appreciate him deeply for sticking with it and coming to see me as often as he could.

I graduated college on December 15th, 2023. I packed up all my stuff, got my dog and moved to Salina, KS to finally be with Ryan. We have been living together blissfully since lol. We have been navigating being in the same house as each other. We've had our up and downs but it has been amazing being able to se each other everyday and not wonder when the next time will be.

We bought our first home together! It was stressful and painful on our wallets but we knew it was what we were ready for. We moved in on June 21, 2024. With the help of his parents and my father and stepmom, we were able to get it done in one weekend. We love it and it is everything we hoped it would be. We are working on making it our own.
