Lucas and Kenzie’s story began on a hot summer night in Downtown Ocala. Kenzie was tending bar when Lucas and his friends stopped in. At the very end of the night, Lucas, ever the charmer, tried to order one more round of drinks after last call. He seemed sure a big smile would do the trick. Kenzie looked him straight in the eyes and returning the big smile, but told him, emphatically, “No.” But fate wasn’t finished that evening. Later, through mutual friends, the two met again. They got to talking, sitting knee to knee, swapping stories and laughing. Kenzie remembers thinking, “This guy seems really great!” From that night on, the two were inseparable. Their relationship grew, weekend dinners in Gainesville, cozy evenings watching Lifetime movies, and endless takeout Mexican meals shared. Lucas clearly knew the way to Kenzie’s heart - food. Kenzie finally blurted out, in a moment of impatience “What are you waiting for, are we boyfriend and girlfriend?” Lucas laughed, admitting he had planned to ask her the following week. But Kenzie didn’t see the point in waiting any longer. That very night, sitting at the bar in downtown Ocala, their relationship officially began. Since then, their journey together has been nothing short of incredible. What started with a simple “No” across the bar has become a story of love, and a future together.
